
Writer
Mr. Phorn Phanoeun was born in 1994 in Ang Snuol District, Kandal Province, Cambodia. He began developing his writing skills in 2001 under the guidance of several senior writers, many of whom participated in the workshops of the Nou Hach Literary Association. Before receiving formal literary mentorship, he had already immersed himself in the study of fiction and poetry during the period he served as a Buddhist monk.
He gained recognition as a promising writer after winning the Buddhist Academy Award in two categories: the poem Incense Smoke and the short story Fear. In addition, he received third place at the 7th Khmer Literature Festival for his poem Bicycle Pedal. In 2023, he was awarded fifth place in the Indradevi Literature Competition, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, in the short novel category for his work The Tide of Destiny.
